Rain Sings Slow

Days are long with sun and flame
but I find peace in evening rain
the world is washed cloudy skies
and thunder rumbles lullabies

The rain sings a slow
Sad song I used to know
Now the storm has passed me by
and I pray for cloudy skies

There is rhythm in the falling drops
The ticking of a broken clock
Rooftop drumming out that old refrain
No need to mourn skies of blue
Memories live in the greyest hue
Whispered stories in the rain

The rain sings a slow
Sad song I used to know
Now the storm has passed me by
and I pray for cloudy skies
Lord I pray for cloudy skies
